Peter
Alexander
After completing
his Veterinary Science Degree in 1978, Peter came to Bega where he has stayed ever
since. He became a partner in 1980, contributing his expertise in cattle
medicine.
Highlights of his long career include membership to the Australian College of Veterinary
Scientists in Dairy Cattle Medicine and being past-President of the Australian Cattle
Veterinarians and completing a distance education course in small animal
medicine. Peter enjoys small animal medicine and surgery. In his spare time, Peter is either speaking French to his family or learning
about medieval history

Jane
Woolacott
Jane
graduated from a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of
Sydney with the university medal. After graduation, she was employed
by a mixed dairy practice in South Australia for several years, before
moving to Bega in 2005 with her husband Adam (a local physiotherapist).
Jane enjoys all aspects of mixed practice, and also has a keen interest
in business management. She belongs to the Bega town band, in which
she plays the flugel horn, is a star midfield player in the Wolumla soccer
team, and has 2 well-loved dogs – “Harry” & "Bill" .

Helen
Schaefer
Helen
has been a member of the Bega vet team for 17 years, and is currently working
as a veterinarian at the Cobargo branch of the Bega and Cobargo Veterinary
Hospitals. Since graduating from Sydney University in 1989, Helen
has undertaken a Distance Education course in Internal medicine. When
Helen is not working, she continues her interest in animals, spending time
on her family beef property.

Chris Knox
Chris has joined the practice after graduating from Queensland University in 2010. He originates from Gympie where he spent many weekends on his grandparents and uncle's beef properties. Chris enjoys all aspects of mixed practices with a special interest in cattle and sheep medicine. In his spare time he enjoys the sun, surf and sand and playing for local hockey team, the Bega Bobcats.

Nikki-Lea Esmond
Nikki-Lea has recently joined our team after graduating from the University of Queensland in 2009. Nikki-Lea grew up on a cattle and cropping property in sunny Central Queensland and has ventured down here to develop her veterinarian skills in all aspects of mixed practice with a particular interest in large animals. Outside of work, Nikki-Lea enjoys being outdoors, kayaking, and has one well loved lab puppy – ‘Gracie’.
